Re-Wire: Utilizing Trauma-Informed Daily Practices with Clients

For clients to truly transform, they must do work outside of their sessions with you.

It can be hard sometimes to motivate them to do their “homework,” which I like to call “growth work” instead. I have found, though, that if clients understand how their brain works and what must happen for change to stick, they are more likely to invest in the necessary daily practices that help to re-wire their brain.

This training explains the science of neuroplasticity and equips therapists and coaches with practical, brain and body-based tools to help clients regulate overthinking and shift out of chronic nervous system activation.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain why daily practices are essential for creating sustainable change for your clients including how consistency supports neuroplasticity and emotional regulation.

  2. Identify the link between stories, subconscious programming, and habits, and how old narratives influence behavior.

  3. Recognize common obstacles to habit change, such as self-sabotage, ego resistance, and “extinction bursts,” and develop strategies with clients to overcome them.

  4. Apply neuroscience principles with clients (focused attention, repetition, emotional meaning) to create effective daily routines.

  5. Encourage clients to implement small, practical daily practices such as morning pages, intention-setting, scripting, gratitude, and safety reinforcement.
