Change The Narrative: Helping Clients Re-Write Their Stories So They Can Heal

The experiences our clients have during their formative years lays the foundation for their belief systems.

What they learned about themselves, others, and life was imprinted in their minds and nervous systems in the form of stories. They learned things like “It’s all my fault” after being blamed for the family problems, and “Nothing goes my way” because their needs never came first.

In this class, I explain in detail how stories are formed, how they affect people in their adult life, and what it takes to change them so clients can stop living in the past.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the origins of limiting stories and beliefs, including how early childhood experiences and subconscious programming contribute to current patterns.

  2. Recognize the role of the ego and subconscious mind in maintaining old narratives and resistance to change.

  3. Analyze the impact of trauma-based stories for clients on current life experiences, relationships, and self-perception.

  4. Apply a step-by-step framework with clients to uncover current limiting narratives and the beliefs associated with them.

  5. Help clients to create a new, empowering narrative using the third-person storytelling technique to bypass subconscious resistance.

  6. Utilize repetition and neuroplasticity principles with clients to strengthen new stories and create lasting cognitive and behavioral change.

  7. Help clients integrate their new story into their daily lives to rewire subconscious programming and align thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with desired outcomes.
